WHOS GOT THE RINGS?!
The bride and groom totally forgot their wedding rings!!!
It was literally two hours before the ceremony and the couple I was working with realized they didn’t have their wedding rings!
The groom just remembered that he left them in their hotel room (being a destination wedding) and it was a 45 minute drive back to get them; one way!
So off went one of the groomsmen in a scurry to save the day!
But now the stress was on!
Not only was the ceremony almost started, they didn’t have their rings!!
SO, what did I do?
I used my knowledge to handle the situation…
Firstly, the groom and I knew that the bride didn’t know that the rings were missing back at the hotel. This was good because I told the groom to not tell the bride.
Why? because I didn’t want to add any stress to her day.
Secondly, the groom started to worry about being late for the reception. I decided to keep calm and put the whole thing into perspective for the groom so he didn’t worry unnecessarily. This helped him stay calm and relaxed.
Thirdly, I rearranged their schedule so the whole thing could maintain a state of flow.
This consisted of me doing photos that I could do without their rings, and planned to do certain photos after the ceremony when we did have the rings.
Finally, it was important to remind them that wedding schedules are never set and stone. It’s best to look at a schedule like a guideline for your day. One that you are able to adapt so you can keep the flow and stay relaxed, happy, and stress free.
So when you are looking for a photographer, look for someone who has the intuitive knowledge and awareness to stay calm when the unexpected happens and know exactly what to do to keep the day flowing with ease.
And there you have it, the story of “Who’s Got The Rings?!”
