Personality – Your photographer will be with you all day on your wedding day. They will be there for all the special and intimate moments. For that reason we believe that it is so important to VIBE well with your photographer. You want to make sure that you like them, feel comfortable with them, and trust them. All of these things are so important in order to get the most beautiful and authentic photos. No one likes awkward moments. We enjoy this so much because our clients often tell us how we felt like apart of their friends and family, and ‘fit right in.
Style – Make sure you have an idea of the style you are looking for. Don’t select a photographer with the hopes that they will adjust their style to fit your likes. It would be like asking someone off the street to select your wedding dress. It might work out but, highly likely it won’t. Here at Truly Divine Wedding Photography, our style is simple and elegant - letting your authentic self shine though the lens.
Communication – Communication is key, not only on your wedding day but, leading up to and following your event. The worst is when you have handed over a huge deposit and then you get ghosted. You want to know that your photographer is there for any questions, timeline guidance, idea sharing, and more. Vision – As a couple, one or both of you have been envisioning your day long before you even met. There are those of us that have scrapbooks several pages deep with our dream dress, ring, cake, and every small detail. It is important that you find a photographer that knows the importance of all your decisions and how to capture them perfectly. On our calls with brides and grooms, we make sure to really get to understand your vision, your desires, and then create a practical plan to make it manifest.
Authentic – You want someone that cares about you, isn’t it? I know some will say this isn’t necessary, but, don’t you want someone that truly listens to what you want for the day? Someone that will be genuine with you and wants to be sure to do what they can to make your day go as smoothly as possible? One of our catch lines here at Truly Divine is, “we have clients that become friends and friends that become clients” - because an authentic relationship is important to us.
Assertive – Sometimes weddings can get a little crazy with the bridal party, family and emotions in general running high for the day. You want someone that will celebrate with you but can also rein people in when needed. The other day one of our clients gave us a testimonial saying, “On top of capturing beautiful images, they were helpful organizing our guests for the pics (it was like herding cats)”. Assertiveness plays a major role when it comes to abiding by timelines and keeping the flow throughout the day.
Knowledge - This is something that is hard to fake. When someone has intuitive knowledge of how to do something they make it look easy, they stay calm and continue to flow no matter how chaotic it might be, and have the sixth sense to notice things others can’t even fathom. This is the ream of “True Knowledge’. When you find someone who has it, we recommend sticking with them because they know to navigate though the process with ease and can help you do the same.
